MyOSD - the next steps
A great day at the North Sea
We are currently ramping up all information and doing strategic planning of the OSD Citizen Science (MyOSD) project. In a nutshell, we would like to engage the public to join MyOSD and contribute to science by collecting important metadata like latitude, longitude, temperature, weather condition, wind speed and others. For this purpose we developed an OSD sampling App. The first version of the OSD App can now be found in the google play store (the iOS Version will be out soon). Feel free to test it and provide us with feedback. At the end all data will be uploaded and visualized in the Micro B3 Information System (Micro B3-IS). Furthermore, we hope that MyOSD helps us to spread the word on the importance of marine microbes for our planet.
Soon we will update the MyOSD page and provide the citizens with more information and video tutorials on how to sample for OSD. So stay tuned and subscribe to our MyOSD-mailinglist by sending an email to myosd-contact@microb3.eu
Help us to spread the word (the official Twitter hashtag is #osd2014) and check out some behind the scene photos from the video shoots for the tutorials:
