ESSD Special Issue - MAREDAT - Towards a world atlas of marine plankton functional types (PFTs)

The special issue "MAREDAT – Towards a world atlas of marine plankton functional types (PFTs)" is currently under community review in the Open Access journal "Earth System Science Data" (ESSD).

The aim of ESSD is to publish short papers about valuable data compilations available in open access, with minimum interpretation/discussion of results, and following quality assessment through a peer-review process.

22nd Meeting of the EU-US Task Force on Biotechnology Research in Bremen

On 22nd of June the EU US Task Force on Biotechnology Research will have their annual meeting in Bremen. We are happy that they will find some time to visit the Joint EU-US
Theoretical and Practical Training Course on Marine Bioinformatics "Marine Omics" on 21st of June.

Successful Micro B3 Use Case Workshop at EMBL-EBI

On 19th and 20th of April 2012 the EMBL-EBI, Hinxton, organised a successful Use Case Workshop in the frame of their Task 1 of the WP4. Nine participants from Germany, Monaco, France and UK analysed and discussed prototype use cases in biological sciences and their legal interpretation in order to identify hypotheses that will be tested on the sampled systems and to create a candidate MicroB3 checklist that will be further developed during the Sampling Groups Workshop in the summer 2012.
